Intense rain and high winds in the Central Jersey brought down many trees and flooding which caused reported power outages in the 5th, 2nd, and 1st wards. Sections of Route 18 were closed in both directions as the Raritan River crested its banks.

Students, Faculty, Staff and even a few Administrators around the country protested university tuition hikes across the country yesterday as part of the March 4th Day of Action for Public Education. The protests spread from California to public universities in New York, Wisconsin, Alabama, Michigan, and Massachusetts. In all there were over 100 events in 32 states.
